How can I get my baby to be in one of your ads?
We absolutely love looking at the beautiful baby pictures our consumers send to us, however, all casting for our advertising is coordinated through our advertising agencies. These agencies in turn work with many professional talent agencies in selecting models used for our ads. We do not choose any of the models. You might want to contact a reputable modeling agency in your area to pursue your idea of having your child in advertising.

Product Usage
When should I use baby powder?
You can apply powder as often as necessary, with each diaper change, at bedtime or any time when there's extended exposure to wet diapers. Change your baby's wet and soiled diapers promptly, cleanse the diaper area and allow to dry. Carefully shake a small amount of baby powder into your baby's diaper, close to the body or into your hand and apply to the diaper area, away from your baby's face.
JOHNSON´S® Baby Powder with Aloe & Vitamin E Pure Cornstarch conditions and softens baby's skin as it absorbs excess wetness to keep skin dry.
Ingredient Questions
How do you ensure that your products are safe?
Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies fully complies with regulations on ingredients in all countries in which our products are sold. Wherever regulatory authorities have set limits on certain ingredients, our product formulations are within those limits.
While we ensure that every product meets our global safety standards, products and product formulations may vary by country. These variations are primarily based on local regulations or consumer practices and preferences.
Our research professionals conduct thorough safety assessments prior to the introduction of any new product. These assessments include an evaluation of each raw material relative to the end use of the product, an evaluation of the finished product and clinical product testing tailored to the potential use of that product. Our team continually reviews new scientific data to ensure that our products continue to maintain the high standards of quality and safety that have been our hallmark for generations of consumers.
I have heard Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a dangerous ingredient. Why is it in your products?
While we do not know what information you have seen or received, we do know that anyone anywhere can publish or send anything on the Internet regardless of validity.
Sodium Laureth Sulfate, a simple surfactant or cleanser, results after sulfating fat derived from natural coconut oil. The fat is modified first by a process called ethoxylation, which helps the surfactant to be a milder ingredient. The process of sulfating involves adding material to the ethoxylated fatty material to make it water-soluble.Sodium Laureth Sulfate is used as a cleansing agent in many of our Johnson & Johnson products. We assure you this ingredient is safe and approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration. No body of scientific evidence links this ingredient to cancer. Additionally, the Independent Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel working with the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) concludes that Sodium Laureth Sulfate is safe as presently used in cosmetic products.
Do any of your products contain peanut oil?
JOHNSON´S® Baby products do not contain peanut oils as an ingredient. Furthermore, JOHNSON´S® Baby products are manufactured and filled under tightly controlled conditions at manufacturing facilities. The equipment and lines at these plants are tightly controlled to ensure that JOHNSON´S® Baby Products are not cross contaminated with other products or ingredients. JOHNSON´S® Baby products are formulated and assessed to be safe when used as directed. If, as a consumer, you have any concerns regarding specific products or their ingredients, you should consult your health care provider before using.
The assertion that chemicals are added that numb the baby's eyes is totally false. The reason JOHNSON´S® shampoo formulas do not irritate the eyes is the mildness of the formulation, which has undergone extensive clinical testing and has proven to be as gentle to the eyes as pure water.
The ingredient 1,4-dioxane has been in the news recently. How is this related to your products?
Some of the ingredients in our products may contain 1,4-dioxane as an incidental ingredient at extremely low levels. This trace ingredient is common in the personal care industry, and results from a process that makes products mild for even the most delicate skin. 1,4-dioxane is also a natural component of such food products as vine-ripened tomatoes and tomato products, fresh shrimp, brewed coffee and fried chicken. Recently, several environmental activist groups erroneously claimed that in 1985 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration asked the cosmetics/personal care industry to voluntarily limit 1,4-dioxane to a certain level. However, the FDA has set no limits for 1,4-dioxane in cosmetics and personal care products, and the low levels in some of our products present no risk to consumers. Test results recently released by these groups state that some shampoos and bath products contain trace amounts of 1,4-dioxane. We are unclear as to the testing methodology used by these groups and cannot verify the data that was listed in their press release.

What's the best way to bathe a newborn?
Sponge bathing is recommended for the first few weeks, until the umbilical cord and circumcision, if any, have healed. Wash your baby's hair and body using a gentle baby cleanser, washing the diaper area last.

Why should I give my baby a massage?

To keep your baby clean, you really only need to bathe your baby every other day or so. Once your baby is mobile or has discovered the joys of independent eating, daily baths for cleanliness become a necessity as well as another opportunity for play! There are many other reasons to take a bath that can include being part of a routine that helps transition a child into a sleep-ready mood. Bathing in a delightfully scented warm bath is a very relaxing way for both parents and baby to slip in to a good night's sleep! Bath time can also provide a special opportunity to bond with your baby and to lightly massage him so he is a ready-for-bed baby. Bedtime routines are essential for good sleep habits, so enjoy this unique time with your baby, particularly at the end of a hectic day.

When is my baby ready for the big bath tub?
Your baby is ready for a grown-up tub when she is able to sit up on her own. But remember, never leave your baby unattended in the tub.
Most babies get diaper rash at least once in the first 3 years. Babies who are 6 to 10 months old, teething, starting solid food or taking antibiotics are especially vulnerable.
Trapped moisture and friction from movement in a wet or dirty diaper can irritate the skin, causing redness and inflammation in the diaper area. Once the skin is damaged, your child's urine and feces can cause further irritation.
Change your baby's diapers as soon as they are soiled. Cleanse your baby's diaper area thoroughly with baby wipes, a wet cloth or cleansing lotion. Always wipe from front to back. Pay attention to skin folds and creases-make sure they're thoroughly rinsed and dried. JOHNSON´S® Baby Powder Pure Cornstarch can help reduce friction and dampness in creases, too.
My baby is often fussy at bedtime. What can I do to calm her down?
It's not uncommon for babies to be fussy at the end of the day. It's their way of coping with all the stimulation of their world. Try to create bedtime rituals that your baby will look forward to. Give her a soothing bath, read her a story or play soft music.

How long should my newborn nurse at each breast?
All babies eat differently. Some babies are very efficient nursers and can empty their mother's breasts in less than 5 minutes. Some want to play and "snack" and can take up to 30 or 45 minutes to finish nursing. Some infants want to take all of their milk from one breast and need to use the other breast the next feeding.
The general guidelines are to allow your baby to nurse from 10 to 20 minutes at each breast. If your baby is wetting at least 6 to 8 diapers in a 24-hour period and is over one week old, then it is likely that he is getting enough milk no matter what his feeding pattern.

How many times a day should you breastfeed your newborn baby?
All babies eat differently, some want to eat a small amount every 1 to 1 hours, others take longer to nurse and only eat every 3 to 4 hours. This also varies as a baby grows and starts eating solid foods, or if he has a growth spurt. The general recommendation for a newborn to eat is between 8 and 12 times in a 24-hour period.
