Baby Bronchitis

Based on content from the baby care experts at JOHNSON'S®.

For babies, the common cold can be just that?common, as the immune system is still developing. When a cold spreads down to the lungs, it may cause bronchitis. There are degrees of baby bronchitis that range from very mild with no fever to more severe cases. Usually, if your baby has bronchitis, he has a cough. He may also be short of breath or you may hear squeaky noises as he breathes. If your baby is having difficulty breathing or has a fever and seems sick, call your pediatrician.

Bronchitis in an infant can be more serious than in a toddler. Therefore, if your infant has a cough, he should always be seen by your pediatrician (even if your infant doesn't have a fever).

Although baby bronchitis can seem a little scary, don't let it upset you. With proper treatment and your loving care, your baby will return to feeling healthy in no time.
